Institute Description

9th Annual Pennsylvania Writing Institute

The Annual Pennsylvania Writing Institute is an invigorating week of professional learning and sharing. Participants will spend the mornings during the week with nationally-renowned speakers, and will have an opportunity to interact with them after lunch in a Question-Answer format. Following each day’s Question-Answer session, participants will break into grade-alike sessions to develop themselves as writers, and as teachers of writing, under the direction of talented teacher-facilitators. Respect for the work that teachers do, and for the knowledge that they bring, is paramount in this Institute. This year’s Institute will feature speakers Kate Messner, Donna Topping, David Somaza and Peter Lourie, Lisa Donohue, and A.S. King. Participants will have an opportunity to work with Institute Co-directors Donna Topping and Kim McCollum-Clark, and Facilitators Karen Davis, Sallie Shepherd, Lynne Dorfman, Sue Mowery, Lisa Roth Walter, Michelle O’Brien, and Anne Shober.
