Payment Information

Log into MAX at https://muhp5.millersville.edu/pls/prod/twbkwbis.P_WWWLogin . Select “Student Services”, click on “Bursar-Student Accounts”, click on “Semester Account- Pay Online”, select “Online Payment”.

What type of payment do you accept?

Millersville accepts electronic check (no convenience charge). We are pleased to also accept: American Express, Discover, MasterCard (all are subject to a 2.5% convenience fee)

Is there a fee for using a credit or debit card for student account payments?

Yes.  Card users will be assessed a convenience fee of 2.5% of the payment amount at the time of each credit card payment.

Why is Millersville University charging a fee for the use of credit cards?

Due to increasing costs and the security measures required to process credit card transactions, Millersville has contracted with a third party company, Official Payments, to provide credit card processing service for student accounts.  By contracting with Official Payments, Millersville can accept secure credit card payments and is no longer responsible for the processing fees.  The fee is charged by the third party processor, not Millersville University.

Why doesn’t Millersville University accept Visa?

Our vendor, Official Payments charges a pro-rated convenience fee of 2.5% of the total transaction.  Visa only allows a flat fee, not a pro-rated convenience fee.  Visa’s flat fee method would require the same flat fee charge regardless of the dollar amount of the transaction.  The current pro-rated method allows Official Payments to cover the cost of the credit card transaction while those customers who choose to pay with a credit card share this expense at an equal rate.  Due to Visa’s requirements Millersville is not permitted to accept Visa credit card transactions for student account payments.
