Waitlisting Procedures At MU

Millersville uses an automated waitlisting system which not only tracks demand for classes but also actually notifies students through MU's Marauder email when a seat becomes available.  Students who use automated wait listing can also opt to receive a cell phone text message when a seat in a waitlisted class becomes available, and they can complete their registration at any computer that has internet access.  Additionally, students who have smart phones can download the MU app and access registration right from their phones within seconds of receiving a waitlist notification.

Winter 2012

OCT 26 Waitlisting for courses begins with registration; notifications for open/available seats will be active with 24 hour notice
DEC 14 Notifications for open/available seats will be active with 12 hour notice
NOTE: Regardless of the time allotted to you to register after you receive an available seat notification, the last time you are able to register for a winter class is 11:59 p.m. on the first working day following the first class meeting

Spring 2012
NOV 10-18 Waitlisting for Spring 2012 courses begins with registration; notifications for open/available seats will be active with 24 hour notice
NOV 28-DEC 04 Email notifications stop
DEC 05 Email notifications resume at 1 p.m.
JAN 09-12 Email notifications stop
JAN 13 Email notifications resume at 1 p.m.
JAN 18 Students who receive email notification for an open seat will have 18 hours (reduced from 24) to respond through MAX
JAN 23 Drop/add period begins (online drop/add using MAX replaces the use of drop/add cards)
JAN 29 Last day to drop and/or add a class by 11:59 p.m.  (Regardless of the amount of time allotted to them in the waitlist notification email, students can add classes off of the waiting list until 11:59 p.m.)
