Dr. Conahan is an Assistant Professor at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Pennsylvania, and a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers. He holds a doctorate in Human Development with a specialization in social work. Dr. Conahan is also Certified Addictions Counselor in Pennsylvania.

Dr. Conahan’s 30 years of experience as a generalist practitioner has included the provision of services to individuals, groups and families, community and organizational development, clinical management and administrative management positions in the field of substance abuse treatment. Dr. Conahan is a board member of Gatehouse a long-term residential drug and alcohol treatment program for men and women. Dr. Conahan is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the National Association of Drug and Alcohol Counselors. Dr. Conahan is President of the Board of Directors for The Gate House, a long term gender-specific residential drug and alcohol treatment program. He is board member of Fairview Counseling and Play Therapy Center and Berks Advocates Against Violence.
