Stephanie Elzer joined the computer science department at Millersville University full-time in the Fall of 2003 after teaching several classes as an adjunct instructor. Before coming to Millersville, she worked in the computer industry at several companies including MapQuest (now owned by AOL), AMP (now part of Tyco), and Primavera Software (still themselves, as far as she knows).


Stephanie received her Ph.D. from the University of Delaware in January 2006, and her M.S. in computer science (also from University of Delaware) in 1993. She completed her undergraduate work in computer science at Shippensburg University in 1991. Her research interests include natural language understanding, user modeling, cognitive modeling, and artificial intelligence in general, and she has an extensive record of research publications and grants in these areas.

 Nancy Mata has her MFA in Graphic/Interactive Design from Tyler School of Art (Temple University), her MA in Advertising Design from Syracuse University and her BFA (Concentration in Sculpture) from West Chester University. As part of her academic experience, Nancy taught design at Tyler School of Art, American University, and West Chester University before coming to Millersville University in the fall of 2003.


She has worked as a Creative Director for an international Fortune 500 company and has over ten years experience working as an art director/designer. She has won both international and national design awards for her work and has been recognized in graphic design trade publications. She has worked on collaborative projects with Richard Blake for the Smithsonian American Indian Museum and Hershey Museum and School.

Born in 1945 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Pat McCaskey grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area.  In 1963, he returned to Lancaster to attend college, and in 1967 graduated from Franklin & Marshall College with a degree in Business Administration.  After working as a Commercial Lending Officer (specializing in regional small business clients) and Credit Department Head for the region’s largest bank (now part of Wachovia), he enrolled in the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh where he earned his MBA and Ph.D.

From 1979 to 1988 he taught graduate and undergraduate business courses in the Boston area, first at Northeastern, and later at Bentley College.  In 1988 Dr. McCaskey joined the faculty of Millersville University where he presently teaches and serves as the Director of the university’s Small Business Institute.

Dr. McCaskey’s fields of expertise include: Marketing Strategy, Consumer Behavior, Advertising and Business Ethics.  He has traveled extensively to Europe, South America and Asia.  In 1994 he was a guest lecturer in Marketing Strategy at the Jianxi Institute of Finance and Economics in Nanchang, China.
