Eligibility
Currently Enrolled Sophomores
Eligible sophomores must meet the following requirements:
- Enrollment as a full-time student majoring in one of the STEM disciplines (biology, chemistry, computer science, earth sciences, mathematics or physics)
- Completion of 30 - 45 credits
- A cumulative GPA of at least 2.75
- Two letters of recommendation, at least one coming from a faculty member in the applicant's major
- Demonstration of financial need as established by federal financial aid guidelines
- Agree to limit working to 15 hours per week during the academic year

- Millersville transcript (unofficial transcripts will be accepted)
- Two letters of recommendation from Millersville faculty members.
The deadline date is November 3, 2008.

- Membership in an underrepresented group (race or gender)
- First-generation college student status
- Degree of financial need
Continued participation in the program will be based on the following:
- Enrollment as a full-time student, majoring in a STEM discipline
- Demonstration of sufficient progress toward attainment of a Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline
- Maintenance of a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75

Freshman Entry Fall 2009
Freshman eligibility will be based on the following:
- Acceptance to Millersville through the Admissions Office
- Demonstration of financial need as established by federal financial aid guidelines
- Enrollment as a full-time student
- Declaration of a major in one of the STEM disciplines (biology, chemistry, computer science, earth sciences, mathematics or physics)
- A high school GPA of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale).
- Score at least 1,090 on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT, verbal and math) or top 20% high school rank
- Agree to limit any working to 15 hours per week during the academic year
The freshman application process includes submission of:
- Millersville Admissions Application, including high school rank and SAT scores
- Freshman Millersville University Merit Scholarship Application form
Independently, the FAFSA application must be completed.
