CITAMARD: It's DRAMATIC Spelled Backwards
CITAMARD PLAYERS is a student-run theatre organization that is committed to reminding all of us that theatre is FUN! We hold monthly meetings in Dutcher Hall and it is open to anyone on campus - not just theatre students. We do a lot of fun activities including the ever-popular Writer's Theatre, Improv, the always-sold-out Citamard One-Acts, and other fundraisers, trips, activities, workshops, and events. This year, Citamard is looking forward to expanding: starting new activities and continuing old favorites. We want to do what you want to do. So come to our meetings and bring your friends. Everyone is welcome! E-Mail us for more information:E-mail Citamard Players
Citamard also supports University Theatre Productions various ways like running the concession stand, ushering, backstage crews, public relations etc.

I hope everyone’s semester has started off well, ours certainly has here in the Citamard office. Here’s what’s going on:
2011-2012 Citamard Activities and Productions
Citamard Shorts / November 18-20 @ 8:00PM, Dutcher Studio Theatre – In the Fall semester, Citamard produces a night of four or five 10-minute plays. They can either be student written or published nationwide, but they have to be student directed.
**AUDITIONS for the Citamard Shorts will be on October 13-14 in Dutcher Hall. Exact location and times TBA. You do not need to prepare ANYTHING for these auditions! Just come in ready to read and have fun.
Citamard Late Night Live / December 9-10 @11:00PM, Rafters Theatre (Citamard Night Live) – This is an event that consists of stand-up comedy routines, along with comedic songs, dance, magic, and other varieties of comedy. All comedians are students of the University.
10 Minute Play Writing Competition / Plays due November 30– Each fall, Citamard hosts this competition in hopes of discovering new writing talent across this campus and throughout the greater metropolitan area (Lancaster/York/Harrisburg). The plays are judged by a variety of experienced writers and directors. The top three that are chosen by the committee are rewarded with prize money and they get the chance to view a staged reading of their play(s) in the spring. For more information contact Professor Tony Elliot @ Tony.elliot@millersville.edu.
Citamard goes to Broadway/ Spring 2012 – We make an annual spring trip to New York City to see a Broadway show. Citamard will pay for the transportation and part of the students’ tickets, making it a more opportunistic trip for our students to view shows of immense technical and theatrical quality.
