Judging/Scoring

Auditions:

Judges will use a scoring system (50 point system)

  • vocal ability ( rhythm/pitch/phrasing/memorization) 1-30 points
  • stage performance (movement/confidence/command) 1-10 points
  • appearance (costume/attire) 1-10 points

Round One

Voting will take place at the end of each round. Audience members may vote by dated ballots distributed at the event. Only one vote (for all contestants; two categories, alumni and student) is allowed per round. Each participant will be stamped to show that they have voted. Results will be determined by 50% audience vote and 50% judges score in all rounds, excluding the audition.

Semi-Finals

Prizes

For each top MU undergraduate and MU alumnus:  1st:$1,000 (check)
2nd:$250 valued prize

All prizes will be made available between October 13, 2007, 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, October 16, 2007, 8:00 p.m. by producers. Prizes are non-transferable and non-refundable. All taxes are the responsibility of the winner.

During each contest, failure to appear after being called three times will result in disqualification.

Judges decisions are final.

Counting of ballots will be performed by three (3) production appointees.
