Millersville University Women's Tennis Downs Kutztown, 7-2

April 3, 2007, Kutztown , Pa. – The Millersville University women's tennis team defeated Kutztown University in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference match, 7-2, on Tuesday afternoon.

The teams of Kari Arrants (so. North East, Md./Tome) and Lindsay Knappenberger (so. Jim Thorpe/Jim Thorpe) and Jenny Habecker (so. Shillington/Governor Mifflin) and Andrea Konas (fr. Lancaster/Hempfield) were both victorious in doubles. The Arrants/Knappenberger duo won 8-3 and the Habecker/Konas pair racked up an 8-1 victory.

The Marauders won five of the six singles matches. Christy Lilli (sr. Lancaster/Cumberland Valley) won a tight 7-5, 6-4 match. Arrants won a tiebreaker, 10-8, to pull out a victory. Debbie Schaefer (jr. Lebanon/Cedar Crest) and Habecker both had 6-2, 6-1 victories, while Konas took her match, 6-2, 7-5.

Millersville improves its overall record to 4-3 and 1-1 in the PSAC East. Kutztown is now 1-3 overall and 1-1 in the conference.

The team is in action again on Friday, April 6 with a rescheduled home match against Georgian Court College at noon.
