West Chester Women's Lacrosse Takes Down Millersville, 18-4

West Chester, Pa. – The West Chester women's lacrosse team defeated Millersville in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) game, 18-4, on Thursday afternoon.

West Chester , ranked second in the country, improves to 10-1 overall and 8-0 in the PSAC. Millersville is now 4-6 overall and 4-4 in the conference. The loss snaps the Marauders four-game winning streak.

Attack Stephanie Kienle led the Golden Rams with eight points (five goals, three assists). Defender Nicole Haines finished with five points (three goals, two assists). Attacks Jackie Baker and Chrissy Kane each had two goals and two assists. Midfielders Mandy Masoner and Gina DiDomenicis both tallied one goal.

Attack Amy Longenecker (jr. West Chester / Henderson ) paced the Marauders with a pair of goals. Midfielder Jackie Geiger (so. Lansdale/North Penn) and defender Laura DeLuca (so. North Wales/North Penn) both scored one.

The Golden Rams took a 1-0 lead at 28:19 on Masoner first goal of the game. West Chester scored three more goals to take a 4-0 advantage at the 11:40 mark. Millersville's first goal came at 11:13 when Geiger found the back of the net. West Chester scored four more times to take an 8-1 halftime lead.

The teams traded goals in the first 36 seconds of the second half. West Chester got two more goals before Longenecker scored for the Marauders at 15:57. The Golden Rams rattled off five straight goals to take a 16-3 lead. Longenecker scored the final Millersville goal with 3:32 left.

In goal, West Chester 's Mary Beth Green made 10 saves. Millersville's Patty Wesolek (jr. Ridley Park/Ridley) stopped 12 shots. The Golden Rams out-shot the Marauders, 39-22.

Millersville will get a day off before host East Stroudsburg on Saturday, April 14 in a PSAC game at 1 p.m.
