Millersville University Men's Tennis Through to PSAC Final

April 20, 2007, Bloomsburg , Pa. – The Millersville University men's tennis team advanced to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championship with a 5-4 win over host Bloomsburg on Friday.

Millersville won two of the three doubles matches. The team of Chris Matisse (jr. Mechanicsburg/Mechanicsburg) and Jim Treires (sr. York/Central York) took their match, 8-6. Mark Treires (so. York/Central York) and Scott Smith (sr. Norristown/Methacton) were also 8-6 winners.

On the singles side, Jim Treires needed three sets to earn a win. He won 3-6, 7-6 (4) and 6-3. Mark Treires and Smith both won 6-2 and 6-1.

Millersville will meet Kutztown in the PSAC Championship on Saturday at Bloomsburg. Kutztown won the first meeting this year, 9-0.

The Marauders last won the conference championship back in 1985.
