Indiana (Pa.) Women's Lacrosse Wins Shoot-Out Over Millersville, 24-19

Indiana, Pa. -- The Indiana (Pa.) women's lacrosse team scored 12 goals in each half to defeat Millersville, 24-19, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) game on Thursday afternoon.

Indiana improves its record to 7-9 overall and 7-6 in the PSAC. Millersville is 6-9 overall with a 6-7 conference record.

The Crimson Hawks were led by attack Mallory Zelawski's 12 points (seven goals, five assists). Attack Jackie Rutkowski and midfielder Kylie Miller both had seven points (five goals, two assists). Midfielders Brittany Pikur and Kristin Slemmer scored twice. Midfielders Kelly Kumerer and Lauren Abbott and attack Kellie Caldwell each had one goal.

Attacks Amy Longenecker (jr. West Chester/Henderson) and Jackie Geiger (so. Lansdale/North Penn) and defender Elizabeth Weekley (fr. Pottstown/Pottstown) led the Marauders with five points a piece. Weekley scored five times. Longenecker had three goals and two assists, while Geiger recorded two goals and three assists. Attack Joann Caminiti (sr. North Wales/North Penn) contributed with four points (three goals, one assist). Midfielder Kelly Kemper (so. Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) and defender Lauren Ward (jr. Springfield/Cardinal O'Hara) each scored twice. Attacks Laura Chiodo (sr. Downingtown/Downingtown) and Becca Barker (so. Coatesville/Linden Hall) scored once.

In net, Indiana's Katie Lee made 23 saves. Millersville's Patty Wesolek (jr. Ridley Park/Ridley) stopped 10 shots in 48 minutes. Katie Magliochetti (fr. Media/Penncrest) played the final 12 minutes and made three saves. The Marauders out-shot the Crimson Hawks, 44-40.

Millersville will play its final regular season game on Saturday, April 28 at Shippensburg at 1 p.m. Millersville can make the PSAC Tournament with a win and an Indiana loss against Lock Haven.
