MILLERSVILLE WOMEN SEVENTH, MEN FINISH TENTH AT PSAC CROSS COUNRTY CHAMPIONSHIPS


October 27, 2007, Kutztown, Pa. – The Millersville University women’s cross country team took home a seventh place finish of the fourteen team field and the men earned a tenth place finish of the twelve team competition held Saturday morning at Kutztown Univeristy.

 
Rachel Hull (so. Lancaster/Hempfield) earned an All-Conference selection as she led the Marauder squad finishing 16th overall with a time of 24:47.10.  Jessica Leddy (jr. Landisville/Hempfield) earned a 24th place finish of the 115 strong field, finishing with a time of 25:23.70. 

Other finishers in the top 50 for the Marauders included: Brittney Zuver (25:45.30, so. York/Central York) and Samantha Mulvey (25:46.50, fr. Reading) who finished back-to-back recording 35th and 36th place finishes, Brittany Arnold (26:06.90, fr. Annville/Annville-Cleona) in 48th, Emily Francisco (26:08.70, fr. Bangor/Bangor) in 49th and Jess Jacobson (so. Newark,DE/Newark) in 50th with a time of 26:09.00.


Bloomsburg University took home the team title for the women finishing with a total time of 2:02:59 and placing four Huskies in the top 20 (All-Conference).  Millersville’s seventh place finish was in a total time of 2:07:49.


On the men’s side, paced by their top finisher Adam Malloy (sr. Ephrata/Ephrata) in 39th of the 107 runner field, Millersville finished tenth with a total time of 2:22:21.  Edinboro University took home the men’s title finishing in a time of 2:13:01.


Other finishers in the top 50 for the Marauders included Andrew Butler (28:23.70, sr. Clifton Heights/Upper Darby), Ben Brewer (28:25.50, sr. Ambridge/Ambridge), and Matt Simkins (28:28.00, fr. Macungie/Emmaus) who finished 46th, 47th, and 48th, respectively.
