MILLERSVILLE UNIVERSITY WRESTLING TEAM FALLS TO BOTH BUCKNELL AND GEORGE MASON IN TRI-MEET

December 1, 2007 – The Millersville University wrestling team fell to both George Mason, 29-12, and Bucknell, 37-0, Saturday afternoon in a tri-meet held in Lewisburg, Pa.

The Marauders managed just one pin on the day when senior Steve Funk (Perkasie/Pennridge) pinned George Mason’s Jimmy Webb in the 184-pound matchup.  The pin cut George Mason’s lead to 19-12 with two matches remaining.   However, George Mason would pick up a major decision at the ensuing 197-pound match to put the meet away.

Other Marauder victories in the meet included Michael Greck’s (fr. Nazareth) 3-1 decision over Brandon Bucher (GM) at 141 pounds and Cody Becker’s (sr. Spring Grove/Spring Grove) decision over Aaron Keeton (GM) 4-2 at the 149-pound match.

The marauders fall to 0-2 in dual meets on the season and will look to rebound when they host Lock Haven on Wednesday, December 5, for a 7:00 p.m. start.
