LADY MARAUDERS RIDE 22-0 RUN AGAINST BLOOMSBURG TO NINTH STRAIGHT WIN

Feb. 14 – The Millersville University women's basketball team recorded its ninth straight win thanks to a 22-0 run that put the Lady Marauders in control for a 72-50 win over Bloomsburg Thursday night at Pucillo Gymnasium.

The Marauders (19-4, 8-0 PSAC East) held the Huskies (7-16, 2-6 PSAC East) to only nine first-half points on 3-of-26 shooting and led by as many as 35 points midway through the second half.

Jenna Craig (so. Lewistown, Pa./Lewistown Area HS) recorded game-highs in points (19) and rebounds (11) and steals (five).

MU, which never trailed, jumped out to an 8-0 lead before the Huskies answered with five straight points. A pair of free throws by Bloomsburg's Kelly Joyce made the score 14-9 Millersville with 9:25 to play, but the Marauders began their 22-point streak with consecutive Craig jumpers.

Jenna Philo (jr. Lancaster, Pa./JP McCaskey HS), who finished with 12 points and six assists, then hit a three-pointer, followed by a trey Kari Cover (sr. East Berlin , Pa. /Bermudian Springs) and a another three from Philo, this one with 3:10 left before halftime.

The Lady Marauders, who out-rebounded Bloomsburg 51-33, led 33-9 at halftime.

Brea Lewis led the Huskies with 12 points.

The Lady Marauders are now 8-0 in the PSAC East and own the No. 10 spot in the NCAA East Regional rankings. Their next game is scheduled for Wed., Feb. 20 against Kutztown for a 6 p.m. tipoff.
