GOLF TEAM TAKES SEVENTH AT CAMP LEJEUNE TOURNEY
March 30 - The Millersville University golf team opened up its season by taking seventh place at the Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate Tournament held March 28-30.
Millersville posted a team score of 913 for the three-day event and was paced by Darryn DeShong (jr.Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg HS), who posted a three-day score of 225 and finished tied for 11th . Deshong's best round came on Day 2 when he shot a 73 (+3).
Corey Gast (sr. Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) finished tied for 13th with a score of 226, which included a 72 (+2) on the second day of competition.
Nick Magenta (so. Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic) finished tied for 42nd with a score of 233. Trent Coldren (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield HS) tied for 47th with a 236. Lucas Seburn (jr. Abington, Pa./Abington HS) shot a 237 and finished tied for 51st .
The Marauders are set to resume competition Monday at the two-day Goldey-Beacom Invitational in Wilmington, Del.
