MILLERSVILLE UNIVERSITY GOLF TEAM WINS GOLDEY BEACOM INVITATIONAL

April 1 – Corey Gast's (sr. Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) second-place finish led the Millersville University golf team to win the Goldey Beacom Invitational on Tuesday in Avondale, Pa.

The Marauders posted a two-day team score of 598 to beat out second-place Indiana (Pa.) by nine strokes. Sixteen teams competed at the event, held at Hartefeld National Golf Course

Gast shot a 75 on the first day and followed up with a second-round 73 to tie for second place overall with a score of 148.

Nick Magenta (so. Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic HS) shot a two-day 151 while Trent Coldren (jr. Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield HS) shot a combined 153.

Luke Serbun (jr. Abington, Pa./Abington HS) shot a 154 while Darryn DeShong (jr. Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg HS) finished with a 155.

The Marauders were next scheduled to compete at the Wesley College Invitational in Delaware , but the event has been cancelled. The team will next compete at the IUP Invitational at Indiana (Pa.) University on April 14-15.
