BASS, HULL & JENNINGS HEAD LIST OF PSAC QUALIFIERS

April 4 – Early success for the 2008 Millersville University men's and women's track teams have resulted in 17 different individual qualifiers for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships to be held May 1-3 on the campus of Indiana of Pennsylvania University.

Through just two meets this season on the men's side, eight individual qualifiers along with two relay teams have earned the right to compete at the annual conference meet.

Derrick Bass (so. York Suburban) heads the list of men traveling to IUP after qualifying for both the 200-meter run and the long jump. Bass recorded a time of 22.87 seconds in the 200 back on March 14 th at the Coastal Carolina Invitational. His distance of 21' 9” in the long jump at this past weekend's MU Invite also met the qualifying standards.

In the decathlon, Lucas Neiderer (so. Delone Catholic), Matt Rogers (jr. Haverford) and Brendon Thomas (so. Governor Mifflin) each posted scores over 5,000 to qualify.

Adam Malloy (sr. Ephrata) and James Boyer (so. Mechanicsburg) will compete in long distance events as Malloy qualified in the 800-meter (1:56.40) while Boyer qualified for the 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:37.20) event.

Both the 4x100 (43.93) and 4x400 (3:28.64) teams posted top two finishes at the MU Invite.

In the field events, Scott Pasternacki (so. Lampeter-Strasburg) and Adam Kravatz (jr. Exeter) will compete at the championships. Kravatz posted a height of 14' 5.5” in the pole vault and Pasternacki recorded a distance of 144' 4” to qualify in the hammer throw.

On the women's side, indoor All-American Priscilla Jennings (jr. Solcanco) and long-distance specialist Rachel Hull (so. Hempfield) head the list of PSAC qualifiers.

Jennings , in just one meet so far this season, qualified in both the 400-meter (1:00.13) and 5,000 meter (18:45.01) events at the MU Invite.

Hull , who qualified for both of her events at the CCI, will participate in the 800-meter (2:19.57) and the 1,500 meter (4:46.80) events.

Other distance qualifiers include Amy Thorton (sr. Northeastern) in the 800-meter (2:23.13), Samantha Mulvey (fr.) in the 3,000-meter (10:41.88), Jessica Leddy (jr. Hempfield) in the 5,000 meter (18:43.14) and both Brittany Zuver (so. Central York ) and Jess Jacobsen (jr. Newark) in the 3,000 meter steeplechase.

The women's 4x400 team (4:14.84) and field event qualifiers Jess Rhyner (fr. Quakertown) in the high jump (4'11”) and Lindsay Clark (jr. Kennard-Dale) in the shot put (37' 5.75”) round out the list.

The Marauders will look to add more qualifiers to the list as they head to West Chester this weekend for the PSAC East Challenge.
