SOFTBALL SPLITS PAIR WITH EAST STROUDSBURG

April 8- The Millersville softball team split a pair of games with East Stroudsburg Tuesday afternoon. The Warriors won the opener 1-0 before Millersville posted a 4-1 victory in Game 2.

The Warriors (11-20, 5-7 PSAC East) got the only run of the first game on a first inning single by Ali Hale that scored Brittany Racek. Winning pitcher Kristen Halvorsen kept the Marauder offense in check, allowing just two hits, both by Erin Hepner (sr. Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West).

In Game 2, Millersville (16-15, 4-6 PSAC East), got all the runs they would need in the first, scoring four times thanks to two home runs, a solo shot by Shaina Briel (jr. Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville Area) and a three-run blast by Janelle Mrakovich (jr. Middletown, Pa./Bishop McDevitt). Mrakovich also struck out 10 en route to raising her record on the season to 7-6.

The Warriors would score a run in the third to set the final margin.

Millersville will be back in action on Friday when they travel to Bloomsburg to take on the Huskies. First pitch in the doubleheader is set for 2:30 p.m.
