SOFTBALL TEAM BLANKED IN DOUBLE DIP WITH KUTZTOWN

April 12 – The Millersville University softball team dropped both games of a doubleheader match-up with the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East’s top team, Kutztown, Saturday afternoon falling by scores of 8-0 and 1-0.

The Marauders (17-18, 5-9 PSAC East) received a stellar pitching performance from Janelle Mrakovich (jr. Middletown, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) who gave up just one run on three hits in a complete-game loss in game two.

Mrakovich gave up a first-inning leadoff double that later came around to score on an RBI-single that accounted for the only run of the game.
Millersville managed just three hits off of Kutztown in the game.

Game one saw the Golden Bears end the game after just four and a half innings, plating eight runs on nine hits including three runs in the bottom of the fifth to put the game away.

Millersville starter Courtney Eckman (fr. Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strausburg) fell to 4-6 on the season with the loss as she gave up eight runs over four innings of work.

Right fielder Maria Polyak (so. Levittown, Pa./Pennsbury) produced the only multi-hit game for the Marauders as she went 2-for-2 in game one.

The Marauders will be back in action Tuesday, April 15, when they host Philadelphia University for a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m.
