MILLERSVILLE TRACK TEAMS HAVE STRONG SHOWING AT BISON OUTDOOR CLASSIC

April 12 – The Millersville University men’s and women’s track teams competed at the Bison Outdoor Classic this weekend and were led by Priscilla Jennings and Brittney Zuver who set NCAA provisional marks in the 1500-meter and steeplechase events, respectively.

Jennings (jr. Solanco) finished second at the meet in the 1500-meter run finishing in a time of 4:32.81, ranking her fourth in the country in the event and leaving her less than one-tenth of a second off the school record.  She also finished second in the 800-meter run finishing in a time of 2:12.50.

Zuver (so. Central York) finished the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 11:13.30 setting a new school record while finishing fourth in the event.

Andrew Butler (sr. Upper Darby) ran the 1500-meter in 4:03.54 which qualified him for PSAC’s and Samantha Mulvey  (fr.) completed the 5k in 18:43.25 earning her a spot at the conference tournament.

Derrick Bass (so. York Suburban) grabbed a fifth place finish in the long jump completing a distance of 22’.25.”

Distance runners Zack Kelchner (fr. Nazareth Area) and Jared Kneebone (fr. Pleasant Valley) set personal records at the meet, running times of 15:53.20 and 15:56.40, respectively, in the 5k.

The team will be back in action again next Friday, April 17, when they host the Millersville Open beginning at 12 p.m.
