MILLERSVILLE UNIVERISTY GOLF TEAM TAKES THIRD AT IUP INVITATIONAL
April 16 – The Millersville University golf team took third place out of 12 teams at the two-day IUP Invitational, which concluded on Tuesday.
The Marauders owned sole possession of second place after posting a 294 on Day 1. Millersville finished with a two-day team score of 589, three strokes behind second-place West Liberty State and 13 behind tournament winners Indiana (Pa.).
MU's Corey Gast (sr. Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg HS) tied for the lead after shooting a first-day 71. He repeated that performance on Day 2 for a tournament score of 142, which tied him for third place.
Other participants for the Marauders were Trent Coldren (jr. Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield HS Tied-14th, 149), Darryn Deshong (jr. Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg HS Tied-17th, 150) Nick Magenta (so. Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic HS Tied-17th ,150) and Lucas Seburn (jr. Abington, Pa./Abington HS Tied 32, 154).
The Marauders resume play on Saturday at the two-day Navy Spring Invitational in Annapolis, Md.
