DOWLING COLLEGE WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL DEFEATS MILLERSVILLE, 3-0; ENDS WINNING STREAK AT EIGHT

September 8, 2007, Millersville, Pa. – The Millersville University women’s volleyball team had its eight match winning streak ended by a 3-0 loss to Dowling College in the second day of the Dutch Country Spiketacular on Saturday afternoon.

Dowling took the three games by scores of 30-28, 30-19 and 30-20.

The Golden Lions were led by outside hitter Justyna Michon’s 17 kills. Defensive specialist Margo Antoniou had a match-high 32 assists. Libero Jessica Gall recorded 27 digs.

For Millersville (8-5), setter Meredith Sinback (so. Fairless Hills/Pennsbury) led the team with 15 assists and nine kills. Outside hitter Kathy Howard (jr. Sinking Spring/Wilson) had 17 digs.

Outside hitter Caitlin Rinker (so. Fort Pierce, FL/Vero Beach) and Sinback both made the All-Tournament team for the Marauders.

Millersville opens up play in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East play against visiting Shippensburg on Tuesday, September 11 at 7 p.m.
