MEN’S TENNIS DOWNS ESU 7-2, WOMEN FALL 5-4

April 19 – The Millersville University men’s tennis team picked up its third win of the season Saturday afternoon knocking off East Stroudsburg 7-2 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action at Bloomsburg University.  The women’s team fell by a final of 5-4.

The men’s team (3-7, 2-1 PSAC) swept the doubles action, anchored by Chris Matisse (sr. Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg Area) and Drew Slocum (fr. Shavertown, Pa./Dallas) who recorded their fourth straight victory by a final of 8-1.

The men also won the first four single matchups, as Mattise, Slocum, Makowski and Treires pulled off straight sets victories.

On the women’s side, the tandem of Kari Arrants (jr. North East, Md./Tome) and Jackie Jaffe (so. Newtown, Pa./Council Rock) improved to 2-1 in PSAC play with an 8-3 victory at No. 1 doubles.

Millersville (3-8, 1-3 PSAC), coming off of two consecutive victories over Cheyney and Harford, lost for the first time since their 5-4 setback to West Chester on April 9.

The two team’s will complete the PSAC regular season when they take on Bloomsburg later today.
