BLOOMSBURG SWEEPS MILLERSVILLE ON SENIOR DAY
April 26 – The Millersville University women’s softball team honored seniors Erin Hepner (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) and Alexa Ashwell (Westminster, Md./Westminster) on Saturday but the team fell in both games of a doubleheader to Bloomsburg by final scores of 7-2 and 10-0.
Millersville (20-27, 6-18 PSAC East) never led in either game as Bloomsburg collected 25 hits in the two games and jumped out to early leads in both contests.
Six different Marauders delivered a hit in game one with catcher Trisha Johnson’s (jr. Nescopeck, Pa./Central Columbia) two RBI-double in the sixth inning accounting for both Marauder runs.
Both seniors ended their careers at Millersville with one hit. Hepner reached on a single in game one and eventually scored on Johnson’s hit. Ashwell delivered the only hit for the Marauders in game two.
