SHIPPENSBURG UNIVERSITY WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL SQUEAKS PAST MILLERSVILLE UNIVERSITY, 3-2
September 11, 2007, Millersville, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's volleyball team came from behind to defeat host Millersville University , 3-2, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East match on Tuesday night.
Shippensburg took the match with game scores of: 30-22, 30-32, 24-30, 30-18 and 15-13.
The Lady Raiders (10-4, 1-0 PSAC) were led by Maureen DuVall's triple-double. DuVall had 47 assists, 17 kills and 14 digs. Brittany Roche and Colleen Toomey both had double-doubles. Roche recorded 20 digs and 17 kills, while Toomey had 19 assists and 16 kills. Kelsi Hoffman had a team-best 21 digs.
Millersville (8-6, 0-1 PSAC) was led by setter Meredith Sinback's (so. Fairless Hills/Pennsbury) 32 assists. Middle blocker Patty Pichardo (sr. Whitehall/William Allen) and outside hitter (Caitlin Rinker (so. Ft. Pierce , FL / Vero Beach ) both had double-digit kills with 20 and 11, respectively. Defensive specialist Kathy Howard (jr. Sinking Spring/Wilson) led everyone with 23 digs. Outside hitter Laura Navin (jr. Mechanicsburg/Cumberland Valley) added 15.
Millersville will have a non-conference match on Friday, September 14 at Elizabethtown College at 7 p.m.
