GOLF TEAM 5TH WITH ONE ROUND TO PLAY AT NCAA EAST REGIONAL
May 6 – The Millersville University golf team shot a second-day 315 to finish the second round in fifth place out of eight teams at the NCAA East Regional.
The Marauders, who shot a 314 on Day 1 and finished in a three-way tie for fourth, are four strokes behind Clarion and five strokes ahead of Charleston .
Darryn DeShong (jr. Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) began the day tied for seventh and ended the day in a four-way tie for 12th. DeShong recorded a second-round 77 (+6) for a two-day stroke count of 152.
Corey Gast (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg HS) is right behind his teammate, tied for 16th with a 153. Gast shot a 79 on Day 1 and rallied with a second-round 74 (+3).
Nick Magenta (so. Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic HS) is tied for 27th with a two-day score of 159. Trent Coldren (jr. Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield HS) is tied for 34th with a 165. Luke Serbun (jr. Abington, Pa./Abington HS) is tied for 39th with a 172.
Competition at Back Creek Country Club in Middletown, Del. wraps up Wednesday.
