MILLERSVILLE GOLF TEAM FINISHES SEVENTH AT NCAA EAST REGIONAL

May 7 – The Millersville University men's golf team had a tough final day of the 2008 season as the Marauders shot their highest score of the NCAA East Regional Tournament (342) and fell to seventh place.

Senior captain Corey Gast (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg HS) recorded the best finish for the Marauders by tying for 21st (79-74-85-238, +25).

Luke Serbun (jr. Abington, Pa./Abington HS) posted Millersville's lowest Day 3 score with an 82. He tied for 39th place with a final line score of 85-87-82-254, +41.

Darryn DeShong (jr. Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg), already selected as the captain of next year's team, finished tied for 27th with a +28, 241 (75-77-89).

Nick Magenta (so. Philadelphia, Pa /Roman Catholic HS) finished tied for 32nd (80-79-86-245, +32).

Trent Coldren (jr. Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield HS) finished tied for 39th (80-85-89-254, +41).

MU had started the final round in fifth place after shooting 314 and 315 during the first two days at Back Creek Country Club in Middletown, Del.

Next year, the Marauders will look to qualify for the NCAA East Regional Tournament for a third consecutive season.
