TESTA SCORES TWICE TO LEAD MILLERSVILLE UNIVERSITY FIELD HOCKEY PAST C.W. POST, 4-0
September 12, 2007, Brookville, N.Y. – Forward Kristie Testa scored two goals to propel the Millersville University field hockey team to a 4-0 win over host C.W. Post in a non-conference game on Wednesday.
Millersville picks up its first win of the year and is 1-4 overall. C.W. Post had a four-game winning streak snapped and is 4-1.
Testa (so. Lititz/Lancaster Catholic) scored a goal in each half. The two scores raised her season total to three. The other two Millersville goals came from forwards Melissa Barto (jr. Hummelstown/Lower Dauphin) and Jaclyn Kulesza (sr. Oxford/Oxford). Forward Nicole Rayson (so. Newport/Greenwood) recorded two assists, while Kulesza notched one.
Testa began the scoring with her first goal at the 16:10 mark. Kulesza picked up an assist on the play. Barto had the first goal of the second half on a deflected pass from Rayson at the 50:03 mark. It was Barto's third goal of the season. Testa followed with her second goal just over six minutes later. She scored from five yards out after a clean feed by Rayson. Kulesza had an unassisted goal at 65:20 to end the scoring.
In goal, Millersville's Jessica Heckman (so Harrisburg/Central Dauphin) made four saves for her first shutout of the year. C.W. Post keeper Pam Guernaccini also stopped four shots.
Millersville returns home for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference game against Slippery Rock University on Saturday, September 15 at 9 a.m.
