OSWALD’S HAT TRICK PROPELS WEST CHESTER UNIVERSITY WOMEN’S SOCCER PAST MILLERSVILLE, 4-0
September 26, 2007, Millersville, Pa. – Forward Sarah Oswald scored three goals to lift the West Chester University women’s soccer team to a 4-0 win over host Millersville University in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East game on Wednesday night at Chryst Field at Biemesderfer Stadium.
The win improves West Chester’s record to 9-1-1 overall and 5-1-1 in the PSAC. Millersville is now 0-7-2 overall with a 0-6-2 conference mark.
Midfielder Jenna Arnold scored the fourth goal for the Golden Rams. Midfielder Rita Alton assisted on Oswald’s first two goals. Midfielder Sam Paolino got an assist on the third Oswald goal, while back Lauren Boyer got the helper on Arnold’s tally.
In net, Millersville’s Karrine Riggins (sr. Millersville/Penn Manor) stopped six shots. West Chester’s Hillary Smart didn’t face a shot on goal. West Chester out-shot Millersville, 15-4.
Millersville will host Shippensburg on Saturday, September 29 at 1 p.m. in a PSAC East game.
