GREBENC LIFTS EDINBORO UNIVERSITY WOMEN’S SOCCER PAST MILLERSVILLE UNIVERSITY, 2-1

October 1, 2007, Edinboro, Pa. --  Mary Grebenc recorded a goal and an assist to lead the Edinboro University women’s soccer team in a 2-1 over visiting Millersville University in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover game on Monday.

Edinboro (6-2-3) took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Angie de Almeida in the 20th minute. She headed a ball from Grebenc into the goal from eight yards away. Midfielder Stephanie Mellott (fr. New Cumberland/Cedar Cliff) got Millersville (1-8-2) on the board by converting on a penalty kick in the 34th minute. Grebenc put the Fighting Scots in front for good with a 39th minute goal from 20 yards out. Devyn Agett had the assist.

In net, Millersville’s Karrine Riggins (sr. Millersville/Penn Manor) made three saves. Lisa Bartolowits stopped one shot in the Edinboro net.

Millersville returns to the field on Thursday, October 4 with a PSAC crossover game at Indiana (Pa.) at 4 p.m.
