RIGGINS HELPS MILLERSVILLE UNIVERSITY WOMEN'S SOCCER TO TIE WITH BLOOMSBURG, 0-0
October 10, 2007, Millersville, Pa. – Millersville goalkeeper Karrine Riggins (sr. Millersville/Penn Manor) made ten saves including two diving stops in overtime to help the Millersville University women's soccer team to a 0-0 tie with Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) foe Bloomsburg Wednesday evening at Beimesderfer Stadium.
Both teams found the back of the net late in the contest; however, both goals were called back on offside calls.
Forward Jessica Bender came off the bench for the Huskies to put four tough shots on goal. The Huskies out shot the Marauders 16-3 and held a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks.
The draw pushes Millersville to 1-10-3 (1-6-3 PSAC) overall. Bloomsburg, hungry for a playoff spot, moves to 6-5-2 (5-3-2 PSAC).
The Millersville University women's soccer team will take the field again this Saturday, October 13, when they play host to Clarion at 6:00 p.m.
