VOGEL HELPS MILLERSVILLE WOMEN'S SOCCER TOP CLARION, 3-0

October 13, 2007, Millersville, Pa. – Forward Madison Vogel (sr. Horsham/Hatboro-Horsham) scored two goals and assisted on a third to help the Millersville University women's soccer team pick up their second win of the season, defeating Clarion University, 3-0.

Vogel scored on back-to-back goals early in the first half. Jamie Lancaster (jr. Telford/Souderton) assisted on the first goal, at the 16:20 mark, with a cross that Vogel kicked into the lower right corner. Vogel knocked home the second goal just one minute and 22 second later (17:44) on a header past Clarion goalie Jess Reed.

Lancaster would add another goal midway through the first half, this time assisted by Vogel, to secure the win for the Marauders.

Goalie Karrine Riggins (sr. Millersville/Penn Manor) made three saves on her way to her fourth shut out of the season.

Millersville out shot Clarion 15-5 and held an 8-0 advantage on corner kicks.

The win improves Millersville to 2-10-3 (1-6-3 PSAC East) overall. Clarion falls to 4-9-2 (2-5-1 PSAC West) overall.

The Millersville women's soccer team will take the field again this Monday, October 15, when they travel to East Stroudsburg for a 4:30 p.m. start.
