MILLERSVILLE UNIVERSITY CROSS COUNTRY COMPETES AT DELAWARE INVITATIONAL
October 13, 2007 - The Millersville men's and women's cross country teams took to the trails at the University of Delaware Cross Country Invitational. The Marauder men started the day with a strong team finish at 4th in the field of 12 teams. Ben Brewer (Sr. Ambridge) was the men's top finisher placing 14th with a time of 27:17 for the 8k race. He was followed closely by Andrew Butler (Sr. Upper Darby) 17th ( 27:25), Adam Malloy (Sr. Ephrata) 18th ( 27:28) and Jim Boyer (So. Mechanicsburg) 21st (27:32). Finishing out the scoring for the men was Matt Simkins (Fr. Emmaus) 34th ( 28:05).
The women also had a strong day with many of there younger athletes stepping up. The team placed 4th out of 12 teams. The top Marauder woman was Rachel Hull (So. Hempfield) who finished 8th with a time of 19:33 for the 5k race. Brittany Zuver (So. Central York) was right behind in 13th place with a time of 19:37. Jess Leddy (Jr. Hempfield) placed 24th at 20:06, while Rachel Yodis (Fr. Phoenixville) was 27th at 20:13. Finishing out the scorers for the women was Brittany Arnold (Fr. Annville Cleona) who placed 31st in 20:25.
