EAST STROUDSBURG UNIVERSITY WOMEN'S SOCCER BLANKS MILLERSVILLE, 1-0

October 15, 2007, East Stroudsburg, Pa. – East Stroudsburg forward Tara Takac scored an unassisted goal midway through the second half to help the Warriors knock off Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) foe Millersville Monday evening.

Millersville goalie Karrine Riggins (sr. Millersville/Penn Manor) nearly recorded her third shutout in a row stopping 11 of the 12 shots fired on goal by the Warriors.   East Stroudsburg goalie Janine Turcio made five saves on her way to the shutout win.

The Warriors outshot the Marauders, firing 19 total shots to just six for the visitors.

 
The win improves East Stroudsburg to 10-4-1 (7-2-1 PSAC East) overall.  The loss drops Millersville to 2-11-3 (1-7-3 PSAC East).

The Millersville University women’s soccer team will take the field again this Thursday, October 18, when they host Chestnut Hill at Beimesderfer Stadium beginning at 6:00 p.m.
