MILLERSVILLE UNIVERSITY MEN'S SOCCER HALTS WARRIOR WIN STREAK AT 12

October 15, 2007 East Stroudsburg, Pa. – Millersville Forward Jeremy Yoder (fr. Ephrata/Ephrata) scored a goal at 3:33 into overtime Monday evening to secure a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) victory over host East Stroudsburg at Eiler-Martin Stadium.

Marauder forward Kyle Loughlin (fr. Warren Hills Reg.) tied the game at one, scoring on a pass from teammate Matthew Procopio (jr. West Lawn/Wilson) with under four minutes (3:26) remaining in regulation.

The Marauders were awarded a corner kick in overtime. Seconds later, Yoder knocked a loose ball in the goal after a scramble in front of the net for the game winning point.

The win brought an end to East Stroudsburg’s 12 game winning streak and extends Millersville’s winning streak in the conference to five.

Millersville goalie Lucas Stacey (fr. Lititz/Warwick) made three saves while playing over 85 minutes in place of starting goalie Matt Langione (fr. York/Dallastown) who went down with an injury just 8:01 into the match.

The win improved Millersville to 9-5-1 (8-4-1 PSAC) overall and moved them into second place in the conference standings.  East Stroudsburg remains on top of the conference standings despite the loss, holding a 15-2 (10-2 PSAC) record.  Lock Haven (8-4) and Slippery Rock (7-3-2) stand third and fourth in the conference, respectively.

The Millersville University men’s soccer team will be back in action on Thursday, September 18, when they travel to Lock Haven for a 2:00 p.m. start.
