KINNEY LEADS KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL PAST MILLERSVILLE, 3-0

October 23, 2007 Millersville, Pa. – Setter Austin Kinney recorded a double-double with 45 assists and 12 digs to lead the Kutztown University women's volleyball team past Millersville Tuesday evening in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action.

The Marauders had a strong showing despite the shutout. In games one and two the Marauders forced match points but were unable to score the final point.

Four Golden Bears recorded double digits in digs including outside hitter Jamie Celia (11), hitter Kaitlyn Culiffe (15), Nicole Biuso (24) and Kinney. Lindsay Confer and Kelsey Nester both recorded double-digit kills for the Bears with 12 and 14, respectively.

For the Marauders, setter Meredith Sinback (so. Fairless Hills/Pennsbury) recorded a double-double racking up 35 assists to go with her 15 digs. Outside hitter Laura Navin (jr. Mechanicsburg/Cumberland Valley) made a strong defensive showing as she recorded 25 digs. Middle blocker Patty Pichardo (16) (sr. Whitehall/William Allen), outside hitter Emily Bires (12) (so. Lititz/Manheim Twp.), and outside hitter Caitlin Rinker (10) (so. Fort Pierce , Fl./Vero Beach) each produced double-digit kills for the Marauders.

The win improves Kutztown to 25-7 (7-3 PSAC East) on the season. Millersville falls to 13-19 (3-5 PSAC East) for the year.

The Marauders will be back in action next Tuesday, October 30, when they host East Stroudsburg at Pucillo Gymnasium for a 7:00 p.m. start.
