Millersville University field hockey has been in the development stage for the past three seasons. The team took huge steps forward in the winter and spring. They worked hard on conditioning and self-improvement and played exceptionally well in the spring tournaments. What is happening is an evolution of sorts. Players are beginning to gain more confidence and the TEAM concept has finally emerged as the primary goal for these players. This translates to cohesion on and off the field and sets the stage for a promising regular season.
We have a strong nucleus of senior players that includes: team captain forward Tiffani Goff; forward Jackie Kulesza, midfielder Julie Hettinger; midfielder Gabby Caronia; defender Kate Shellaway and forward Lynn DeAngelis. Add in a strong core of sophomore and junior players and seven new recruits and I believe we have what it takes to challenge in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference this year.
