Kyle Almoney will begin his third year as Marauder head women's swimming coach when the 2008-09 season begins in November.

In the 2007-08 season, Almoney guided the Marauders to their second-straight winning season, the first time MU posted back-to-back winning marks since the 1991-92 and 1992-93 seasons.

In his first year at the helm, Almoney led the Marauders to their only undefeated season in the team's then 29-year history by going 5-0 in dual meets. The swimming team broke seven school records while earning Academic All-America status. It was MU's first winning season in eight years.

Almoney was a 24-time All-American in swimming while obtaining his B.A. in communication studies at West Chester University. He was the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Rookie of the Year in 2000. He holds the school record in the 200-yard butterfly. In 1997, Almoney was the PIAA state champion in the 100-yard butterfly. He was also an All-American swimmer in high school.

Before coming to Millersville, Almoney was an assistant coach at Widener University from 2003-2004 and was also an assistant at the Trident swim club, where he primarily worked with the distance group and guided several of the swimmers to both senior nationals and Olympic trial times. He also coached at an independent high school in York, Pa. where he coached an All-American in the 500 freestyle in 2005.

Almoney is a member of the American Swim Coaches Association and the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.
