Coach Andy Young guided the Marauder track and field program to more success and increased exposure during his second season as head coach (2007-08).

Young increased the number of Pennylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) meet qualifiers to 27, up from 13 the year before. He also guided junior distance specialist Priscilla Jennings to her second and third appearances at an NCAA D-2 track and field competition (2007 outdoor 1500; 2007-08 indoor mile; 2008 outdoor 5K). Jennings also won a pair of All-America nods, broke seven school records and won five PSAC championships during the 2007-08 indoor and outdoor seasons.

Young also directed the return of track and field competition to the Millersville University campus. The Millersville Invite (fomerly the Millersville Metrics meet) was hosted for the first time in five years. Both the MU men's and women's outdoor teams took first place at the March 29 competition. The track and field program would go on to host two more competitions during the following month - the Millersville Open and the Millersville Classic, an event for high school competitors.

He also won a bid for Millersville to host the 2009 PSAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships in May and hopes to host the NCAA Division II Championships in the near future.

Ten school records were set during his first season (2006-07), including six indoor (400 men, 4x400 men, 4x800 women, 4x200 women, 400 women and mile women) and four outdoor (4x400 women, hammer throw women, steeple chase women and 4x200 men).  Jennings won PSAC championships in the outdoor 1500 and 800 and the indoor 800. The women’s team had its best outdoor finish since 2000.

Young also coaches the MU men's and women's cross country teams.

Before arriving at Millersville, Young was head coach of the men’s and women’s cross country and track and field at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University. Young oversaw the revitalization of that program from 1997-2004.  His women’s teams captured three conference titles in cross country (1997, 1998, 2003) three indoor titles (1999, 2003, 2004) and two outdoor titles (2003, 2004). His men’s team won an indoor title in 2004.

In addition to his work at Long Island University, Young also worked with Locust Valley High School, Northport High School and West Islip High School, all in New York.

Young is the former treasurer for the Metropolitan Intercollegiate Track and Field Association and has served as the NCAA North East Region representative for Cross Country. Young is a certified USA T&F Level I coach and a Certified USA T&F Level II Coach for endurance.

Young has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Hartwick College and a masters in teaching physical education from Brooklyn College.
