The B.E.S.T. Program (Basic Educational Skills Training Program) is a clinic
sponsored by Millersville University for children who have reading problems.
-
The B.E.S.T. Program will provide small group and individualized
instruction based on the diagnosed needs of each student.
-
Instruction will focus on reading skills, but related written and oral
communication skills will also be stressed.
-
For children reading at the first reader level, early intervention strategies
similar to those in the Reading Recovery program will be employed.
-
At the conclusion of the program, parents will receive a complete written
report outlining their child's progress.
-
Students will receive two and one half hours (9:30am-12:00noon)
of instruction Monday through Thursday, starting on July 22, 2002 and
continuing through August 15. Parents/guardians will be contacted
to make arrangements for individual testing/assessment of their child during
the week of July 15th-July 19th, 2002.
-
The B.E.S.T. Program is located at Stayer Research and Learning Center
on the Millersville University campus.
