Closed Sections of Courses

Instructors in the Math Department do not do overrides to get people into courses. This is department policy, and this is different from what other departments do. So I don't do overrides for my courses, for any reason. Overrides are only done by the Chair or Assistant Chair.

If the section you want is closed because it's full AND it is prior to the first week of the term, get on the Registrar's Waiting List. Check online registration over the break now and then to see if any slots have opened up. If spring arrives and you still haven't gotten in, then you need to fill out a Waiting List Form. If you're blocked because you don't meet some other requirement, contact the Math Office (717-872-3531); those kinds of blocks must be lifted by the Chair or Assistant Chair.

Spring Courses - Math 100, Math 310

• I'll post information about the spring courses I'm teaching when it's ready, but that will probably not be until right before spring term starts.
• If you're trying to get into a closed section of one of my courses, please read the information above.
• The spring textbooks for Math 100 and Math 310 are the same as those used in the fall. (The fall textbook list is linked above.) One exception: I won't be using MyMathLab (online homework grading) in my sections of Math 100. So if you want to by a used copy of Miller, Heeren, and Hornsby (as long as it's the right edition), that's fine. Other sections might be using MyMathLab; check with the instructors in those sections to find out what they're doing.
