BIOL 211 -- Concepts of Zoology
BIOL 241 -- Principles of Ecology
BIOL 242 -- Ecology Laboratory
BIOL 447 -- Chesapeake Bay System
BIOL 446 -- Ecosystems
BIOL 472 -- Biological Problems of Environmental Management
BIOL Biological Oceanography (Marine Science Consortium, Wallops Is. VA)

Areas of Specialization:
Ecosystem Ecology: freshwater (ponds, lakes, streams) and marine ecosystems (estuaries, coastal waters, mangroves).

Research Interest(s):
I study the effects of biological and physical processes on food webs in aquatic ecosystems. Students are involved in several current projects, which include field sampling, experimental laboratory work, and development of models. Current projects include: effects of low oxygen concentration on lake zooplankton, stream macroinvertebrate communities as indicators of water quality and land use in Lancaster County, identification of viruses that attack and lyze single celled algae, and coastal upwelling which may influence the larval stages of blue crabs and other benthic invertebrates.
