Hurricane Katrinia Research Ongoing
- A CDRE team of 6 conducted inter-views of first responders in October seeking to determine "what went right vs. what went wrong" with the response to Katrina - in the view of those responding to the catastrophe.
A return trip is planned for the spring.
- A CDRE team of 4 will be joined by a team of 4 researchers from Oklahoma State University in field work to look at the mass fatalities management issues encountered in the aftermath of Katrina. This work will be completed during the spring.
Notable Achievements
Anthony Subbio, Assistant Manager of Planning with the Dauphin County Emergency Management Agency (Pennsylvania), has become a certified emergency manager after successfully completing the requirements for CEM status with the International Association of Emergency Managers. We are proud of Tony who is among our first EHEM minor graduates and is enrolled in our MSEM program. Congrats Tony!
