Research Interests
Dr. Bonser’s research interests are in the general areas of synthetic organic and physical organic chemistry, with a particular emphasis on small ring chemistry, heterocyclic chemistry, polyaromatic chemistry, and process development chemistry. Research topics include: 1) the synthesis and chemistry of diaziridines; 2) the synthesis and chemistry of trans-bicyclo[n.1.0]alkanes; 3) the efficient synthesis and chemical development of a phenylindanedicarboxylic acid; 4) the synthesis and chemistry of new Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) compounds.
About Dr. Steven M. Bonser
Dr. Bonser joined the Department of Chemistry in July 2007. Before coming to Millersville, Dr. Bonser taught organic chemistry at Bloomsburg University. Prior to teaching, Dr. Bonser worked in the Research and Development Laboratories at the Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, NY. He was also a Research Fellow at the University of Leiden, The Netherlands.
