This Policy Statement announces the revision of the University's Copyright guidelines and the creation of a Fair Use Committee.

1. SCOPE

These guidelines are designed for use by all Millersville University faculty, staff, students and other individuals associated with the Univerisity.

2. OBJECTIVE

To assist the University community in understanding and conforming to the legal constraints of the federal copyright law.

3. RESPONSIBILITIES

A Fair Use Committee, whose members are appointed by the President, is responsible for the implementation, interpretation, and review of this policy. The Director of Library Services acts as chairperson of this committee. Department heads should ensure that all individuals within their department are aware of and have access to these guidelines.

4. RECISION

This policy replaces in its entirety the University's 1978 Copyright Policy.
