June 2005 ASSE Region VIII Outstanding Student Section The Millersville University American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) Student Section was awarded the 2004-05 Region VIII Outstanding Student Section Award. This is the second consecutive year that section has received the award. To receive this honor the section held monthly meetings, attended nearly all of the Central Pennsylvania Chapter meetings, and completed several safety related projects. The section members assisted with fire inspections of university owned houses, testing and inspection of eyewashes and safety showers in Caputo and Roddy Halls,

June 2005 ASSE Student Section Members Attend PDC in New Orleans Six members of the ASSE Student Section attended the national ASSE Professional Development Conference in New Orleans. Funding for the trip was provided through allocations from the university Student Senate and from section fundraising efforts. Students attended the conference sessions, exposition and several student oriented sessions.

April 2005 OSEH Award Winners Announced The recipients of the 2004-05 OSEH scholarships have been announced. Raymond Mullins/ASSE Scholarships were awarded to Cant Remember and Or Thisone. Remember is a junior from somewhere, PA. Thisone is a junior from somewhere else, PA. The Mullins award was established in 19XX in memory of one of the original program faculty. The Central Pennsylvania Section of the American Industrial Hygiene Association selected Danielle Parette as the recipient of the 2004-05 award. Parette is a senior OSEH major. She will be graduated in August following completion of an internship at sanofi pasteur in Swiftwater, PA. Chad Thomas, a junior from Mechanicsburg, PA, received the 2004-05 C-P Flexible Packaging Award. The award recognizes a student with . From .. The Award was established by C-P, a York based company, in honor of Gary Nicholas. Mr. Nicholas was a long time employee that had a personal interest in safety and health on the job.

Under Construction August 2005 OSEH Program Graduates 15 Congratulations to the fifteen August graduates of the OSEH program. Each of the August graduates recently completed a summer internship to compete their graduation requirements. |
