New Stayer Education Building Completed.

This year we completed the new Stayer Education Building. The building was rededicated on October 11, 2007. Students, faculty, and staff of the Elementary and Early Childhood Education, Special Education, and Education Foundation departments will move to the new Stayer Hall in time to begin the spring 2008 semester. Stayer Hall is the first LEED certified or "green" building on Millersville University's campus. This state-of-the-art facility will serve as a valuable resource to students and faculty in preparation for educating the children of the Commonwealth. Bricks honoring friends and family will be placed in the courtyard garden. The Education Building Campaign Advisory Board worked tirelessly to help raise funds for this project and to insure that the School of Education continues to provide an educational opportunity that is second to none. Also, THANK YOU to the generous donors who helped to make this project a reality.

THANK YOU to our Fall Phonathon Donors.

Each semester students make calls to alumni, parents and friends to ask for MU Fund contributions, which support important scholarships and programs. This fall, a group of students continued the tradition with unbridled passion and as a result achieved outstanding results. The students received over $149,000, from close to 2,000 people, which resulted in a 42% increase over last fall’s total of $104,000. THANK YOU to all who pledged their support and made our fall MU Fund phonathon a big success! Calling will resume once students return in the spring.

What Comes Around, Goes Around…

...at least that's the story of the Classes of 1956 and 1957! When they graduated from Millersville, nearly every member of these classes intended a profession in teaching. As they plan their return to celebrate their 50th graduation anniversaries, they have decided they want today's Education students to have the same great opportunity they had. Each Class has decided to raise $25,000 by the time they celebrate their 50th reunions to fund classrooms in the new Education building which will proudly bear their name for decades to come. Additionally, the Class of 1957 plans to give a portrait of the Millersville Marauder rendered as he appeared during their years on campus. Watch your mail for more information!
