A new state-of-the-art Stayer Hall, which Houses the School of Education, opened its doors to approximately 2,800 students.
The Robert and Sue Walker Center for Civic Responsibility and Leadership was established to foster a campus culture that values civic and community engagement.
The Paul and Caroline Beideman Honors College Fellowship program was created to provide a scholarship and mentoring program to the Honors College.
Ganser Library celebrated its 40th anniversary.
The Department of Industry and Technology received over $100,000 in grants and equipment to improve its packing and printing educational programs.
A Computer Productization Center was established. The first of its kind in the state, faculty and students will shepherd Central PA entrepreneurial computer software ideas from the drawing board to commercial-ready applications.
Millersville awakened the intellect.
Millersville’s student chapter of the American Meteorological Society received the Outstanding Student Chapter of the Year Award. Also, Earth Sciences department chair, Dr. Richard Clark, received the Teaching Excellence award.
Millersville’s student chapter of the National Association of Industrial Technology won several awards at the annual NAIT conference – first place for best poster, first place in electrical control methodology, and third place in the overall robotics competition.
17 graduate students became the first class to graduate from the Masters of Social Work program in May.
Millersville’s American Chemical Society student chapter received an honorable mention for their outstanding contributions in the field of chemistry.
Millersville was a supportive and enriching community.
Millersville partnered with Lancaster Regional Medical Center to offer Respiratory Therapy students hands-on clinical training and laboratory work.
PennDOT contracted the Millersville University Weather Center to provide regional forecasts for PennDOT’s District 8, which is a great opportunity to expose meteorology majors to operational forecasting for winter storms.
Author of New York Times best seller “The Color of Water” (the common reading project for freshmen), James McBride gave the Carter G. Woodson lecture and a musical performance.
The 2nd annual Glorious Sounds of the Season concert featured over 250 Millersville University students and was a great community event.
Marauder baseball and women's basketball both won PSAC East Championships. Marauder men's basketball was a NCAA East Region Finalist.
Richard Thomas (John Boy from the TV show The Waltons) presented and spent a day on campus as a guest lecturer in several classes.
