School of Education Campaign

The School of Education campaign is a bold undertaking that will maintain Millersville University's competitive edge in the field of teacher preparation and education. The campaign will fund a new facility enabling the transformation of the way teachers learn and shaping the education of Pennsylvania's children for generations to come.

While state-of-the-art in the 1960's, Stayer Hall today is stretched beyond its capacity in terms of technology and space. For MU to continue educating extraordinarily talented and well prepared teachers, it must provide state of the art classrooms and learning technology that supports the diverse ways we learn.

The new School of Education Building design will support the needs of the departments it will house (Education Foundations, Early Childhood Education, and Special Education). Additionally, it will be the University's first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified building.

By definition, a green building is one whose construction and operation assure a healthy environment and efficient use of resources. Millersville University is committed to the "green" design and construction of this building.

The new Education Building will:

  • Increase instructional productivity and student to faculty ratios through effective use of space.
  • Integrate software into the instructional process by including computer space in each classroom.
  • Allow faculty to successfully model instructional practices during teacher preparation.

The campaign for the Education Building is a defining moment, our opportunity to enhance the quality of public education and to affirm the School of Education at Millersville University as among the nation's best.

The School of Education campaign provides an exciting opportunity for alumni and friends to invest in making the University stronger and better for future generations of students.
